Overview and Challenge
BitShield.io provides secure crypto-backed lending, enabling users to borrow against their Bitcoin holdings. A key challenge was helping potential customers understand how loan terms—such as BTC collateral, interest rates, and loan-to-value (LTV) ratios—affect repayment obligations and risk. Without an interactive tool, customers often found it difficult to calculate their borrowing capacity and liquidation thresholds. BitShield needed a solution that could simplify complex financial details while doubling as a lead-generation engine to build trust and capture prospects.
Solution
I developed a fully custom WordPress plugin for BitShield that serves as an interactive BTC-backed loan calculator.
Key features include:
Dynamic Loan Inputs – Users can set their loan principal, enter BTC collateral, and adjust their desired LTV ratio with a slider.
Real-Time BTC Data – Integrated directly with the Coinbase API, the calculator fetches live Bitcoin prices and displays trends through an interactive chart.
Detailed Loan Breakdown – Instantly calculates interest, APR, origination fees, margin call thresholds, and liquidation price.
Lead Generation Workflow – A modal form captures user details (first name, email) before providing a full loan breakdown. Submissions are synced with Brevo CRM, triggering automated nurturing sequences and product updates.
This integration of Coinbase’s live market data with Brevo’s marketing automation made the tool both educational for users and revenue-driving for the business.
